Not sure what to say?

Hi Aunt Phil , we think about you this time of year....Horton Family Reunion time. A lot of years , a lot of good times and good food. We miss your Christmas Letters too....Love Dave , Deb, Cammie and Davey Edgington

I am so sorry to hear that Phyllis has gone to her rest. I have benefitted by her family history research on the Horton family. It was through these writing that I was trying to contact Phyllis and found I was too late.
I am proud to have some of the same dna though our ancestors.

I was honored to be asked by Phyllis to help her (and Marion) at the Joiner History Room at the beginning. I helped once a week until May 1993 when my husband, Bob, reitred from NIU and we moved to Arizona. When I returned for summers I again helped out for a number of years. Phyllis always teased me about my distress in finding that red stuff on a Civil War Bounty paper. She said, Yes, Beve I think that is blood. What a great lady! I was out of the country so could not be with you at...

Many condolences, Maureen. I knew your mom from when she worked with my mom at Kroger, and later through the Joiner facility. She was a sweet, bubbly woman whose smile was infectious, and she will be missed.

Patsy & Maureen,
Still have happy memories of your Mom baking Christmas cookies when I stayed at your home. So good to hear her life was so full & joyful. Our prayers are with you.

My sympathies to your family. Your mom inspired me as a young teenager to pursue my family history and offered encouragement over the years. She was a wonderful lady and dedicated historian!

Phyllis was a special friend with whom I shared historical tidbits. I will always remember the research trip we made
to Canada. We were disappointed to find that we had arrived when the Museum was going to be closed. Closed was not about to stop a true historian. Your Mom picked up the phone and called the man who was in charge. The result: We had a private tour. I'm sure you have all had similar experiences and will miss her presence. You have my sympathy.

I remember when I was 4 or 5 that Mrs. Kelley was my favorite person at the Kroger in Dekalb/Sycamore when my mom would take me shopping. My condolences to the Kelley family.

Her words and deeds have always been a light in my life. No replacement even possible.
