Not sure what to say?

I am so sad to learn of her passing; we met when she visited my mother, Margaret Hearn in Long Beach, Caifornia, when Phyllis came to visit to go over genealogy stuff - for which so many of us owe her a huge debt. We spoke few times and I always felt richer for contact with her. My link to her:
Mary Jane Ferris Stearns, mother of
Adelaide Ferris Wing, mother of
Margaret Wing Healey,mother of
Margaret Healey Hearn, mother of

While it's doubtful I know...

I got to know Phyllis through her work on the Lampha family and the Lapham Leader. What a great family newsletter. Thankfully I have the full series and will make sure it is preserved for future generations! I was just sending a letter to another Lapham family member and it made me think about Phyllis. Sorry to hear of her passing.

Phyllis and I never met or even exchanged email, although I would have jumped at the chance. I have been working on the Ferris genealogy for several years now, and her work has been invaluable to me. According to Ancestry, she & I are 7th cousins. I wanted the family to know that I mourn her passing and feel for their loss. Her work will live on.

Peace be with you and all you Love.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We (My mother and me) were just talking about her today, and the book that she published with regard to the Ferris Family. My mom bought a copy of the book sometime in the 1970's. I hope to find a copy for myself. Thought I'd google her name to see if I could contact her to say hello and ask if I can buy a copy as well. Terrible new's to hear of her passing. I'm so sorry. Peace be with Her and All She Loved. Sincerely, Tamatha (G Grand Daughter of Cornilia...

So sorry for your loss of Phyllis. It was always great seeing Phyllis and of course all of her Genealogy stories and research was amazing. I am going to have a paver placed in the Genessee Humane Society Garden in memory of Phyllis so that her memory may live on for future generations to discover.

I met this beautiful lady many years ago when she showed up on my doorstep wanting genealogy information. The next day I was at the courthose doing research for her! That was 30 years ago and I am still researching. We have kept in touch all of these years and i have lost a dear friend. My prayers are with her family. She was loved.

Jay, sending my deepest condolences to you and your family...so very sorry

Very sorry, Jay and Dan and families, for the loss of your mother. Wishing you peace and lovely memories during this difficult time.
