Phyllis Matsue Kortas

Phyllis and I were classmates in school on Maui. I first met her at Makawao Elementary School when the Takano family moved from Honokowai to Haliimaile. We went on to Maui High School together. Phyllis was such a wonderful person, always ready for any adventure, we visited Mackinac Island, Nashville, Door County and the great north woods. She loved seafood, stickers on cards, reading books, watching movies, learning new things, and meeting new people. She shared anything she had and was always willing to help anyone in need. I loved Phyllis and I know she loved me.
