Not sure what to say?

Phyllis was my field supervisor at the LSU School of Social Work my first year, 1980-81. She was a mentor of all mentors! I credit her for positively influencing my 40 year career as a social worker. She invited us to her home (I still have her mushroom soup recipe) & always spoke so lovingly of her family. I had to testify in court my first year as a student intern & she was right there with me. I will never forget her kindness, talent and compassion!

Betsy, Jennifer and Janie I am so sorry for your loss. Phyliss was such an amazing and loving person. She was like a second mom to me and always there when I needed a shoulder or a hug. She will be so missed but always in my heart. Love to all of you.

Momma Philis that is what she. Was and will always be to me she was the best person I ever met and wil be forever grateful for her she taught me and loved me unconditionally she will be forever in my heart and my Husbands heart we gained a family when we met her our deepest condolences to Jennifer and Betsy our forever Family

I will not be able to attend services and trust Phyllis would understand. I will be just finishing supervision of psychiatric residents and off to do group therapy. My memories of Phyllis are times we shared at the beach for many years. Susan Eaton made it possible for a group of social work friends to gather for fun and laughter. My deepest sympathy to Betsy, Jennifer and family. Warmest regards Karen S. Travis

Jennifer, Betsy, Janie, and Tom: We are so saddened by Sue's death and very sorry we will not be able to attend the funeral service. As Janie knows we are in Alaska for the summer. Sue and I remained close through out our lives, as cousins, friends, and professional colleagues. In the last few years I sent her postcards of our travels at her request as she no longer felt well enough to travel. We often spoke by phone, not often enough, and I was so happy that we were able to see each other...

Phyllis, a coworker and friend at LSU was a wonderful, delightful , knowledgeable and u ruffled presence with a surprisingly wry sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. My condolences to her family especially her daughters and grandchildren

So sorry to read about your mom´s passing. I saw Phyllis several months ago at the salon. We talked and she was in good spirits! Prayers for your families!! Enjoyed our many years of insuring her at Pat Flanagan State Farm.

Phyllis was an outstanding Campus Counselor at the Infirmary during my last year at LSU in 1990. Her empathy, skill and professional manor helped guide me through a breakup that had left me emotionally incapacitated. It was a happy but bittersweet day just before graduation when we had our last session. I was in a much healthier frame of mine thanks almost entirely to her, however, it was a little sad to realize that our sessions were coming to an end. She graciously granted my request to...

Ms. Phyllis was the social worker who did my adoption in 1973. She is the reason I became a SW! I was blessed to work as an adoption and foster care SW for a few years in my career. Our families kept in touch for several years when I was a kid. I reached out to her many years ago to give her an update and let her know I became a SW because of her! So sorry to hear of her passing. Prayers to her family
