I feel privileged to have briefly known Phyllis, as a member of The Merrie Mountain Rug Hookers. She was smart, funny and soft spoken....and a very talented hooking artist. After hearing some of her stories of growing up without a family, at The Children's Home of Winston-Salem, I am sure , even though she a gentle demeanor, she also had an inner strength ,resilience and determination.
Rest in peace, Phyllis. We will miss you.
