Phyllis Rose Peters, born November 5th, 1934, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 25th, 2023, peacefully surrounded by her devoted husband and family.
Phyllis was born to Helen (Majewski) and Carl Meier in Evanston Illinois. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Leroy Peters. Their four children Scott (Patricia) Peters, Rev. Mr. Bruce Peters, Jeff (Nancy) Peters, and Wendy (Van Maychszak). She was a loving Monga to 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Phyllis is also survived by her sister Barbara (Ben) Yellin and brother Carl (Reiko) Meier and 12 nieces and nephews.
A lover of all things family, Phyllis enjoyed vacationing with her children and grandchildren and making special memories for them all.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother-in-law Ben Yellin, her mother and father-in-law Fred Sr. and Dorothy Peters, sister and brother-in-law Patricia (Arthur Gehrke), brother and sister-in-law Fred (Shirley) Peters, and nephew Gary Gehrke.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on July 31st, 2023, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake, IL. Visitors will be received beginning at 9:15 am with Mass at 10:00 am. The Church is located at 451 W. Terra-Cotta Avenue in Crystal Lake.
Absent from the body, Phyllis is at home with the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in memory of Phyllis Peters to the American Cancer Society.
