Phyllis was an amazing woman. She was passionate about all she endeavored to do. She loved others and her family well. I am so very sorry to hear of your loss, and I will be praying for your whole family.

So truly sad to read this. Such memories of ‘MRS.Pickens’ at Mtn Gap. Sleepovers with Laura and MRS. Pickens hospitality.
Love and light to her family. She touched so many lives.

Mrs. Pickens was my favorite Elementary teacher and one of the reasons I am an Auburn Tiger. Her academic (and collegiate ;) expertise influenced countless lives that have had lasting effects in the Tennessee Valley. War Eagle Mrs. Pickens, you will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Mrs. Pickens was a wonderful second grade teacher to both of my children Linzay and Walker at Challenger Elementary. They loved her dearly! When we moved from Huntsville to Pennsylvania, I remember she told me, I just know you’ll be back! We never made it back to visit her but we all have fond memories of Mrs. Pickens. What a gem. So sorry for your loss.

I have so many memories from second grade thanks to Mrs. Pickens! I even went on to teach second! I got my first pedicure from her “nail person”. She will be so missed!
