Send FlowersPhyllis F. Sprague, 98, a gold star member of American Legion Auxiliary of Cherryfield, Maine, died at an Ellsworth hospital on Monday, January 8, 2001. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 12, 2001, 1 p.m., at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Main Street, Milbridge. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Milbridge. Arrangements entrusted to Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge, Maine.

I first met Phyllis back in 1970 when I came to Milbridge for a visit with her daughter Joyce. I got to know her better when I moved to Milbridge in the early 70's. The things I remember most about Phyllis was, that she was such a friendly woman. You were always welcome in her home and you weren't there very long when she would try to con you into a game of cards or a board game. Being a game lover myself, I was always willing to play. I have many fond memories of sitting in her kitchen...

When i was a kid Phyllisused to visit my Mom Lillian Schevenieus on the Devils half acre. My Mom iived on Bendego Flat which was what they called the section where Clifford and Phillis lived when she was growing up .Oscar hung out with my brother Lawrenceand Ronnie Ray when they were Kids.I always liked Clif and Phillis and she always had a happy face and life was not easy in those days .
