My sincere condolences to the Stith Family.

My condolences and love to the Stith family. Pompey's aunt Esther Stith Pride was my childhood caregiver and friend. Actually, she was my de facto mother, and I loved her dearly. I enjoyed hearing her talk about her brother's children -- Pompey, Yvonne, Charlene and Lorraine. I believe they lived next door to her in Rocky Mount, growing up. At Esther's funeral, Lorraine grabbed my hand and took me to sit with the family. I'll never forget that act of kindness, and will cherish it forever.

I will always remember being greeted with "Hello friend" any time I saw him. Even though he told me many times to call him Pompey, he'll always be Mr....
