Obituary

Our friend and colleague Pouya Arya passed away on September 5, 2018 in Shanghai, China. He was in China doing what he did best, driving development with our partners. The picture above captures Pouya in his element. Working with the factory team to create a complex product to support Apple. In this case Biella Italy in 2016 for Horizon (iPhone 3D Touch field calibration fixture). He as a rule he didn't like his picture to be taken but here he is too proud of his team, and it shows!

Pouya is returning home September 26th and there will be a very small private family event next week.

We are planning something for his Apple Family and will update this site when it's confirmed.

The family invites donations in Pouya's name to Diabetes Youth Families in Pouya's name. https://dyf.org

There are drop boxes for condolences for Pouya's family at my office in Almanor 2, Irene Chow's in Apple Park and Farshid Hashemi's in Vallco Parkway 2C.

Please send me more pictures, stories (everyone has at least one pouya story) and programs/projects that he worked on.

Not sure what to say?

Pouya 2005 - Taken at the San Francisco Zoo with our son Chase Cook when he was 1.

I love you.....

Sorry to hear of his passing. Just finding out now. He was such a nice man, met him in 1998 at the ZepFest.

I just found out about my friend Pouya's passing away. Words could never explain how sad I am. I have never met anyone like him. He was the nicest, caring person!!
I met Pouya at a Zepfest in the late 90's, Niagra Falls i do believe. He asked me to hold his guitar strap while he got a beer:) Well a group of us were standing around talking with him for quite awhile, he found it amusing I was still holding onto his guitar strap! He mentioned that to me "again" in the last email I recieved...

Poutya was the nicest most considerate person. He was a great friend. He will be missed.

My husband and I are heartbroken. We just found out today that Pouya passed away in 2018. He was my husbands best friend for decades. They met at San Francisco State University and have been friends ever since. After having kids and getting distracted by life, we didnt get to see him much in the last 10 years or so. When he was in Sacramento from time to time, at the Apple site, we would try and meet up, but could never connect. That hurts even more now that he is gone. I messaged him in...

I remember Pouya from 1971 when we attended Kharazmi High School . He was a great person and a true Persian! He will be missed by all who knew him.

Pouya was a unique and special person. Worked with him at Apple for four years and got to solve some pretty interesting problems with him. He was someone I always looked forward to seeing and working with.

Condolences to his family for their loss.

I’d like to report something on this page.
