Prescott Wheeler Hoffman

I still think about Prescott from time to time. That was a really fun time in my life, and he was a part of it. Over 20 years later, his memory and stories live on through so many of us still!

I miss Prescott more than I can express. He was one of the best people I've ever known and his life has impacted mine more than I ever could have imagined. When I came to visit in Lexington, he and I would talk on the back porch of the home in which he and Jason lived while we waited for Jason to finish cooking dinner. I met Precious (my nickname for him) at freshman orientation at Centre in 1999. From that moment on we became steadfast friends. He really was a "brother" to me since we were both only children, he sometimes joked that I was the sister he never wanted : ) He got me through a lot of hard times in my life with his humor and compassion. Words can not describe the pain I feel for Suzanne, Norris and Erin, as well as his other family and friends. I became extra close to him when he lived with me...

It is with profound sorrow that I relay the combined condolences of the Navy's Instructor Training community from the Learning Site at Corry Station Pensacola and the Center for Naval Leadership. As a father and grandfather, I can only imagine the unbelievable challenges one has to endure with the loss of a child. Your community of friends and co-workers join together in sincere thought and prayer for support and strength during this devastating event in the lives of you and your family.

I went St.Paul's with Prescott and spent time with him on our Senior Disney World trip. He was one of those people you know has a good heart and would do anything for others. I mostly remember him for his laugh and sense of humor. Reading other entries, it is obvious that his loss is felt by so many people. My thoughts and Prayers are with Prescott's family.

We share in your sorrow. He was blessed with a wonderful family and friends who will always love him, as he was a blessing to all. Cherish the beautiful memories.
