Preston Edgar Maybin

SALUDA - Preston Edgar Maybin, 87, of Saluda went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Elizabeth House.
Mr. Maybin was born December 2, 1926 in Henderson County to the late Columbus "Lum" and Mary Capps Maybin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Alma Beatrice Bradley Maybin and his wife of 24 years Pauline L. Maybin. A grandson Jeffrey Maybin; sisters Estelle Levi, Bertha Theriault, Gertrude McCarson, Onie Lee Maybin and a brother Grant Maybin.
He is survived by his sons Charles E. "Butch" Maybin and wife Syble of Zirconia and Billy H. Maybin and wife Billie Faye of Saluda; grandchildren Roger Maybin, Sherry (Kurt) Hopper, Kelly (Brooks) Lowder; great-grandchildren Taylor Hopper, Sydney Lowder, Thomas Hopper; sisters Onnell Theriault, Edna Levi and Iona Owen; a brother Grover (Evelyn) Maybin; brother-in-law Peter "Pete" McCarson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church Saluda with Reverend Wayne Dunagan officiating with burial to follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
