Preston "Jay" Jr., age 64, of Butler, died Sunday, May 13, 2012. Jay was born in Paterson, NJ, the son of the late Preston and the late Flora (Winters) Fairlamb. Jay was a retired New Jersey State Trooper, serving as a Lieutenant before retiring in 2002. He primarily worked in Troop B, which covers northern New Jersey, during his 28 years as a trooper. He was a member of Rolling Thunder and also The Blue Knights. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his beloved children, Preston "Jay" III, Kimberly and Scott, as well as four cherished grandchildren. Viewing hours will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 4-9 PM at St. Anthony's R.C. Church, 65 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A Funeral Ceremony will be offered Wednesday 11 AM, also at St. Anthony R.C. Church, Butler. Final Disposition will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fairlamb's Fight PO Box 347 Butler, NJ 07405, in his memory. My deepest sympathies to the entire Fairlamb family. I knew Jay (Mr.Fairlamb)growing up with his three children. He reminded me of a gentle giant. I realize his passing was sudden and a tragic loss but he is in the hearts and minds of all. God Bless his family.
