JACOBS, Preston Entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May 1, 2007, Preston Corbit Jacobs, the widower of Lucille Bunch Jacobs. The relatives and friends of Mr. Preston C. Jacobs are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Friday, May 4, 2007, at the Graveside, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Most of his adult life he resided and worked in Charleston, SC; however, for the past 10 years due to failing health he resided with his daughter Kaye Leslie in Denmark, SC. He was born on Saturday, October 27, 1923, in Wayne County, Georgia to Andrew Corbit Jacobs and Idella Brooker Jacobs. He served in the United States Naval Reserve and Merchant Marines and was a skilled welder and iron worker. He retired from Mobay Chemical in Goose Creek after 12 faithful years of service and previously worked at Westvaco and the Savannah River Site. He is survived by daughters: Kaye Leslie of Denmark SC and Linda Jacobs of Summerville, SC; one Sister, Hazel Harbeson of Summerville, SC; one Sister-in-Law, Lorraine Gehlken of Charleston, SC; Grandsons Andrew C. Jacobs of Myrtle Beach, SC and Chad E. Leslie (Dianna) of Stafford, VA; Granddaughters, Margaret J. Pipkin (Tim) of Moncks Corner, SC and Allene J. Gaskins of Tampa, FL; Great grands, Sara DuPont, Amy DuPont, Britt Pipkin and Erin Pipkin of Moncks Corner, SC; Autumn Leslie of Stafford, VA; Nieces Rita Bokern (Joe) of Charleston, SC, Teresa Strickland (Joel) of Summerville, SC and Carolyn Cook of Conway,SC; Nephews, Henry Gehlken (Vivian) of Columbia, SC, Jack Gehlken (Gail) of Mobile, AL; as well as several Grand and Great Grand Nieces and Nephews.
