In Memory of Prior Lee Gwin Funeral services for Prior Lee Gwin, 77, of Rayville were held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Harold Spillers and Rev. Alvin Stowe officiating. Burial was in Stevenson Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville, LA. Prior Lee Gwin was born on May 4, 1931 and passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Mr. Gwin worked at Stevenson Cotton Gin for 40 years; he also farmed all of his adult life. He cherished his family and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavern Rouse Gwin; parents, T. Buck and Nollie Gwin; sisters, Geneva Edwards and Mae Dean Kimball; his step-mother, Cloteel Stuckey Gwin. Survivors include daughters, Nollie Greer and husband, Mitchell of Rayville and Rosey Greer and husband, Charles Lee of Oak Ridge; sons, Larry Gwin and wife, Wanda of Rayville and Terry Gwin of Rayville; 7-grandchildren, Buffie Gwin McSwain of Rayville, Barrett Gwin of Rayville, Brad Crawford of Rayville, Christy Fortenberry of Choudrant, Genevieve Banner of Rayville, Jessica Greer of Oak Ridge, Desiree Greer of Rayville; 8-great grandchildren; brothers, Gillis Gwin and wife, Charlotte of Rayville, W.M. Gwin of Ashtown, AR, Arthur Gwin and wife, Denise of Plainerville, LA, Sammy Gwin of White Castle, LA, Troy Gwin and wife, Nina of Ashtown, AR; sisters, Emma Simmons and husband, Aubrey of Huntsville, AL, Ruby Smith and husband, Bobby of Rayville, Betty Roberts of Peal, MS, Barbara Callagan and husband, Curtis of White Castle, LA, Sue Graham and husband, Billy of Arcadia, Gail Mitchell of Many, LA. Pallbearers were William Freeland, Danny Freeland, David Freeland, Richard Freeland, Bendel Clack, and Erick Silk.
