Priscilla A. Clougherty-Papp, 83, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30th, 2025.
Born in Manchester on December 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Genevieve (Ciempa) Skrzyszowski. Priscilla’s life was deeply rooted in the Queen City, where her love for learning, music, and family began.
A proud graduate of Central High School, Priscilla played violin in the school orchestra and participated in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas all four years. Her musical talents extended beyond school as a member of the Manchester Youth Symphonette, an early expression of the joy she found in the arts.
Priscilla earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Notre Dame College and dedicated her career to laboratory medicine. She served with professionalism and care at Sacred Heart Hospital, Catholic Medical Center, New Hampshire Medical Lab, and Path Lab. While at New Hampshire Medical Lab, she was honored as Laboratorian of the Year, a testament to her excellence and dedication.
Priscilla was married to her beloved husband, John M. Clougherty, for twenty-six years until his passing in 1990. Together, they raised four children, instilling in them the values of education, participation in athletics, and a love of family.
Priscilla found love again and in 1994 married Richard W. “Dick” Papp. Together for twenty-six years, they cherished time spent with family, throwing big parties, and especially attending their grandchildren’s concerts, performances, and hockey, basketball, and baseball games. They traveled the world extensively, embracing new places and experiences with enthusiasm. In their later years, they made RiverWoods Manchester their home. Priscilla enjoyed her golden years at RiverWoods, calling bingo, volunteering at The Tavern, participating as a member of the advisory committee, and serving as the chairperson of the Salvation Army Kids Café Foundation.
Priscilla loved life deeply and fully. Her devotion to family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she brought warmth, wisdom, and laughter to all who knew her. She was predeceased by husbands John Clougherty (1990) and Richard W. “Dick” Papp (2020).
Priscilla is survived by her children, Timothy Clougherty (Deanna), Angela Lyman, Eileen Vlieger (Matthew), and Brian Clougherty (Megan); stepchildren Bill Papp (late wife Marie), Mary-Jo Boisvert (Tim), Katie Fitzgerald (Ron Breton), and Julie Papp (David Haywood); grandchildren Olivia and Ben Papp, Maggie Boisvert, Meaghan and Declan Clougherty, Jack Fitzgerald, Shaeleigh Lyman, Nora and Nicholas Vlieger, John and Fiona Clougherty, and Grace Haywood; great-granddaughter Rhea Oakley; siblings Jane Sidway (Robert) and Jon Skrzyszowski (Claire); as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
