Dover: Priscilla (Mercier) Gunter, 88, died Friday, January, 16, 2004.
Born in Haverhill, Mass. on November 25, 1915, she was the daughter of Arthur and Alma (Rankin) Bruyere and moved to Dover in 1932.
She married Albert Hall Mercier and had eight children. She owned and operated The Little Ladies’ Grocery Store for over 25 years.
Upon her retirement, she was a very active member of the Dover Senior Center and was its director for several years.
She was a champion tennis player in her youth, an avid card-player, an all-sports enthusiast and recently a member of the Red Hat Society. The biggest love of her life was her family.
She was predeceased by her husband; brother, Paul; and three sons, Peter, Bruce and Greg Mercier.
She is survived by four sons, Ron, Al, Tom and Tony Mercier; and a daughter, Jan Litvinchyk.
Her extended family includes 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; her sister in law, Dorothy Bruyere; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services. A private family memorial was held on Sunday, January 18, 2004.
