Dr. Smith was born on December 25, 1928 and passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017. Dr. Smith was a resident of Rogers, Arkansas at the time of passing. He graduated from Little Rock (Central) HS in 1946, Hendrix College in 1949 with a BA in Chemistry, and had been president of his senior class, ranking second scholastically. He entered the Air Force and did his internship at City Hospital in St Louis, Missouri, where he met and married Joan Alexander of Appleton City, Missouri and became beloved by her farming family. He will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Rogers at 1901 S. 26th Street, Rogers AR, 72758, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 31st. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The First Presbyterian Church of Rogers Foundation, or to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance at pda.pcusa.org.
