There are so many memories I don´t know where to start with! My husband more than once told me" Putney is my best friend, I may not be his best friend!" When Putney heard me telling him this, he chuckled and " Said of course he is mine as well." When I passed this news back to Jack, he said " I hope so, but I have not done any thing for him! "

Sending lots of love to the whole family. His daughter Clare, her husband Jim and their children Katie and Taylor are lifelong friends of our family. We have always loved hearing stories of what an amazing man he was. May God bless the family during this time.

I met Putney in 1979 when he was with Boyne. He had such a singular dignity and a timeless bon vivant spirit. I was as impressed with him as can be. I suppose he liked me too, as he recruited me to an Ivy League led firm on Sandhill Road in Menlo Park. Amazing man with an amazing family. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.

This was an uncommonly good man of faith and vision who had such warmth, depth and breadth; it was an honor to know and to be his pastor for so many years. I won't be surprised if part of the music we hear from heaven is Putney playing the great hymns of the faith on some celestial piano, and encouraging us to join in a sing-along!
