Quentin Harper, of Gruver, Texas, passed away October 15, 2025 in Gruver. Services for Quentin Harper will be Monday, October 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Gruver Methodist Church, with burial at Gruver Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.
Quentin Cluck Harper passed away on October 15th, 2025. He was born on a snowy 20th day of December, 1978, to Lee Cluck and Park Anthony “Tony” Harper. He graduated from Gruver High School in 1997. Following his high school career as an accomplished calf roper and occasional steer wrestler, he attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University and was a member of their perennially competitive rodeo team.
Quentin settled in Gruver and began ranching and farming with the former being his enduring passion and the latter a necessary nuisance. He raised two wonderful children, Laney and Q, whom he loved deeply with a strong commitment to their upbringing and provision.
He was always drawn to the excitement of any live auction and nurtured that interest by attending an auctioneering school in Montana followed by several years of working local auctions. In that vein, he always found great joy volunteering to take bids and raise money for the Hansford County Livestock Show Premium Sale. He took great pride in making sure every youth exhibitor was compensated to the fullest all the way to the last animal sold.
Nobody was outside the reach of Quentin’s ever-ready helping hand. He was a friend and supporter to many young and aged. He was fiercely loyal to his family and the person you wanted in your corner in the toughest times.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joyce & Carroll Harper and Olene & Bob Cluck and his uncles Kim Cluck and Tim Harper. He is survived by his children Laney Lee Harper and Q Harper of Gruver; mother and stepfather Lee and Mike Wilhelm of Gruver; his father Tony Harper and his companion Jackie Carthel of Amarillo; brother Lee Bob Harper and wife Jennifer of Gruver; aunts Carla Harper of Lake Elsinore, CA, Kelly Shadle of Clarendon, and Terrie Harper of Spearman; dear companion Tisha Cudd and her children McCormick, Merrit, and McRhea of Gruver; nephews Leo Harper of Canyon, Max Harper of Stillwater, OK; and a niece Natalie Harper of Gruver.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch or the Hansford County Stock Show.

Quentin was so kind to let me hunt for the first time on his ranch. I will forever cherish the mule deer mount and his friendship that came from that experience. The kindness he showed me will never be forgotten. I pray for Laney and Qball, their dad sure did love them.
