Quinten Barclay

My sincere condolonces to Martha and Marissa. Quint and I were business acquaintences for many years and, while we didn't always agree, I respected and learned from his career full of experiences and stories. I recall sharing many enjoyable and humorous occassions with Quint.

I also was shocked to hear the news and wish to send my sincere thoughts to all. Quint and I go back to the early 70's, and the stories and advice he gave me on our many road trips certainly helped to mold me. He was a good friend and never candy coated advice, which found him almost always right. I treasured his candid guidance and know he helped me in my career and life, and he was probably the most loyal client I have ever had. We shared many laughs relating the experiences that 30+ years...

I worked for Q.B. (our nickname for Quinten at the Cummings office) for over 10 years. Crusty, gruff, in-your-face, opinionated....and the best boss I've ever had.
I'll be out of town this weekend and am very, very sorry I can't be with Martha and family and friends at the "Big Guy's" services. My most common memory of Q.B. is walking by his office...him catching my eye...and without a word slowing moving his finger in the "come here" motion. That move struck fear in my heart...

I would like to express my sympathy to Martha, Marissa and Family. My Uncle Quint will always hold a special place in my heart, he was my special Father at the Father-Daughter Dance, and also was my honer to be a junior bridesmaid in their wedding. I was both shocked and saddened to hear of Quinten's passing. His larger then life persona will surely be missed. It was his outgoing personality and personal approach to the ad business that brought me and our account to Cummings Advertising over 10 years ago. Stopping by Quinten's office was always so enjoyable, he always greeted me like an old friend. No one who met Quinten will ever forget that laugh. My heartfelt thoughts and condolences to Martha and the family.

I only knew Quinten as a patient. He always had a smile and that infectious laugh, even when he didn't feel well or he was PO'd about the restrictions on his food choices (and making stone soup!) I took the news really hard -- it all happened so fast. But Quinten strikes me as a man who didn't do things just "a little bit" -- more like go big or stay home. In the conversations I had with him over the years, I came to know he was passionate about a lot of things. We all learned from him...
