R. William Reinsmith, beloved father, passed away on July 8, 2014 at the age of 78. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death in the home of his daughter Jennifer, where he had been residing for the past year and half in Houston, Texas. Born January 25, 1936 in Pipestone,...
Many wonderful memories of school years in Watertown with Bill and Ann. Bill took the time to write me a wonderful long letter in response when Ann passed away. Sorry to lose another friend.

Bill always found the little joys in life. As our "next door neighbor", Bill was so amused by the antics of the boys or "the little dumplins" as he called them. His favorite observation was the dumplins' holding on to the electric garage door handle then dropping down from the highest point. He so loved to share stories of his own beloved children.
Bill was a dear soul who enriched the lives of all who knew him. May he Rest in Peace.

Bill lived across the street. He had a piano keyboard painted on a piece of wood on which he practiced. When he went to his lessons next door to me I'd sit under the window and wait for him to get done. He was SO handsome and I loved him – we were in the second grade at Grant!!!! I remember the big white house with the huge porch where we had so much fun when we were at Mellette. Some of those childhood friends are now gone too.
Bill was an accomplished and popular guy throughout...

As a classmate at Mellette grade school, then Jr. High and then Sr. High I have good memories of Bill and of course Ann....My late husband and former classmate was equally fond of both of both.I personally will always treasure his phone call after Harlan died...May your families also treasure your memories and receive comfort in knowing he (and Ann)have been "welcomed home" by those who have gone before... There was no person I admired more or looked up to more in Watertown High School than Bill. Of course he was a hero on the football field and on the basketball court - in one game he shot the winning goal practically from under the other side's basket as the whistle blew. Outrageously good. At football, much the same. I had other interests and lived at the other end of town, so our paths didn't cross so much except through our mutual friend Frank Lautenschlauger but when they did cross...

The YMCA benefited by Bill's long service. I was privileged to know him and benefit by his work as a volunteer. My sympathies go to his family. Tom Reynolds YMCA of Greater Hartford
