Connell, Rachel Rachel Connell (nee Ritz) lived a life of personal adventure. To her, every mountain was a molehill. Those who knew her would agree that Rachel had the most keen sense of organization. She was a 1964 graduate of Wyoming Park High School, where she played clarinet in the band, had...

Not sure what to say?

Rachel you were a gigantic burst of sunshine in all of our lives. Many of us were in kindergarten class with you many years ago. Your accomplishments were many and you met every challenge head on. Your beautiful yard made you the "Martha Stewart" of Wyoming Park. We were privileged to call you our friend and classmate. You will be forever on our minds and in our hearts. You made me laugh. We are all better to have known and loved you. Rest in peace Rach.

I had the pleasure of working with Rachel when I was hired as legal secretary fresh be out of Davenport College in 1967. She made me feel welcome and taught me more than the basics. My thoughts and prayers with her family. She was definitely one of the best.

Rachel will forever have a special place in our hearts. Expressing our condolences to her family.

George, family and friends,
I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Rachel's passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I last spoke with Rachel on her birthday. I have so may good memories of time spent with Rachel, starting with our days at Davenport College in 1966. My trips back home always included a visit with Rachel to catch up and relive our past with much laughter. Gone but not forgotten. I will be at the memorial.

Rachel, you are gone in the flesh, but will remain in our hearts forever.

Rachel also left behind her special friend of over 70(!) years, Ron Weidenfeller. Ron & Rachel graduated together from Wyoming Park High School in 1964. Rachel, because of Ron, has been a part of the Weidenfeller family especially in the past 5 years. In the picture below Rachel (right) is helping our Aunt Dottie celebrate her 90th Birthday on August 4, 2019. Two of Rachel’s special cat friends, Lila and Midnight, are now living with Ron.

As a classmate of Rachel’s, I thought she always had a passion for everything she did and used her gifts with so much heart. Through the years, she certainly brought her talents to life through her work, home, volunteering, family, and friends. What a beautiful tribute to Rachel that was written about her, a glimpse of the smiling and kind person that made her shine brightly for all to see. Thinking of her family and special friends at this difficult time.

I am so saddened by Rachel’s passing George. You are missing your sister, and so many of us are missing this “light” that organized and pulled us together for so many fun and wonderful events over many, many years. Each gathering was always filled with laughter and great conversations. Memories of her will generate smiles forever! Peace Rachel!
