Not sure what to say?

Nov. 5th was your birthday Rachel. It is too bad that midnight came so fast. You left your hometown to make the world a better place and was successful and appreciated by those you met elsewhere. Good for you! As Scott Carpenter/John Glen have said-- "God Speed".

I came across this today by accident. I am so,so sad. She was my all time favorite teacher. I adored her. I had her for 5th and 6th grades @
Chabot. I also tutored some of her students when I was in high school. I wrote her a poem when I left for college and she wrote to me several times while I was in college. Amazing teacher and woman. Such a fun, witty, sarcastic and loving person. She was truly a gift and a mentor to me. I was hoping to see her again and now it is too late. ...

Rest in Peace. Thanks for all the years of teaching and caring.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. McKay. She was a great role model when I was in Middle School at Wells. My thoughts are with the McKay family. Rest in Peace Mrs. McKay.

oh how sad:( Mrs. McKay was one of my favorite middle high teachers! You will be well missed!

Mrs. McKay was my 4th grade teacher and also my 8th grade P.E. teacher. I remember her reading out loud to us in 4th grade, and teaching us to do cartwheels off the balance beam in middle school (she looked as terrified at spotting me as I felt doing the cartwheel!!) She was a wonderful teacher!

In addition to Wells, Mrs. McKay was my 4th grade teacher at Donlon Elementary. Imprinted in my mind is her passionate reading of "Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing" by Judy Blume. She did all the different voices. How we sat around her on the floor, mesmerized, a classroom of future book lovers and dreamers. God bless you, Mrs. McKay.

Mrs. McKay was my teacher at Wells many years ago. I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. She will be well remembered.
