Sister Rachel O'Meara

I am a niece of Rachel's and thought I would share my favorite memories of Rachel. When she lived in Japan periodically she would visit the US and would always return to the Green Bay area. We had the delightful pleasure of meeting Sr. Rachel, when she visited us in our home in Frontenac accompanied by her brother Patrick, whose wife Sharron is my niece. She was such a friendly and interesting person and entertained us with stories of her fasinating life as a Sister of St. Joseph in Japan. She truly loved her Order and conveyed those feelings to us.

We remember Sister Rachel as one who gave so much and expected so little in return. For our family, (Charles, Sue, Steve, Diana Schlosser), she was an aunt and great aunt. Many Christmas holidays included a visit with Rachel in our home. Our last visit with her was in St. Louis about 5 years ago and it's how we will always remember her. We were blessed to have her a part of our lives and we know that she is at peace.
