Not sure what to say?

I worked along side Rae when I was in the National Teacher Corps (1966-68) under George A Finchum who was the director of the Corps in the Johnson City, Tennessee region then. I was one of the Teacher Corpsmen assigned to a rural high school Roan Mountain, Tennessee where I taught math. The school had no contemporary math texts and so I wrote a math booklet for my students. Rae was impressed and sent a copy to the national headquarters of the Teacher Corps where it was recognized as the...

Saddened to read about Rae In the close to 30 years we lived in West Windsor I came to know her as a sincere, sweet natured person. My best to John, who encouraged my daughter"s interest in the sciences. Amar and Vinaya Saijwani

I was thinking about Mrs. Roeder recently, as I am also an educator, no doubt inspired by her mentorship. I was a student in the YWCA's after school program when she was our director. She taught me SO much, from how to cook eggs, to how to believe in myself. I am an art teacher and teach young children, and I was showing them how to properly clean a table and I could her Rae's voice teaching all of us how to do that all those years ago. Remember you with admiration and appreciation Rae...

Rae worked tirelessly for Local 1033. THere will never ever be another human being like her.

John and Family: Our deepest sympathy on the loss of Rae. She was one in a million, who gave her all to any cause she took on and fought endlessly for that cause. She made West Windsor a better place to live and cared deeply about the quality of life here and the residents. Rae made the township meetings lively and interesting.!!! Please take comfort in your faith and your memories.

Dear John, I am so sorry to hear that your wife died over the new year, I did not hear of it. My sympathies to you and your family, and friends of family who knew Rae well. I only knew her by reputation as a fighter for workers rights, a Democrat, and a leader of women when women needed leaders to help fulfill the goals of the equality movement. She had my respect and admiration. New Jersey is so much better off for having her on our side. Sending my best, my love, to you all.

Very sad, A true champion of the people, end of an era, proud to have known her. My condolences RIP.

Rae was a true godsend for the regular working persons within the entire State of NJ workforce. No labor leader ever worked harder or accomplished more for the common working people in the State of NJ. The hard working individuals at the NJ DSS Distribution Center will never forget her !!!

I made every effort to see you before your passing...all in vain. I committed to be at your viewing and/or funeral but the weather blocked that. But you, mom, and John have always been in my mind and heart these many years. Our relationship runs deeper and longer than just our time involving CWA 1033. But we all know you were the voice for the underdog and justice especially when no one wanted to hear. And now I know you're giving the greatest leader of all an ear full. Fight on Rae. ...
