Not sure what to say?

Rajeev samantrai was one of the nicest men in my life always caring awesome cook I loved him.

I fondly remember Rajeev from the years we flew hot air balloons together in southeast Michigan and from the later time we reconnected after years of no contact. He was one of those people who brightens your life. I am saddened to hear of his passing. Rest in peace Rajeev.

Rajeev and I knew each other in junior and high school, and reconnected when I moved to California in 1994, but I hadn't seen him since he moved back to Michigan. He popped into my head this morning and I Googled his name...needless to say, having this site come up was an unpleasant surprise.

He was a very interesting guy. I mostly remember his gregarious and generous nature and his profound intelligence. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

I met Rajeev in recent years. He impressed me as being a warm, wonderful and caring person. I was priviledged to eat several gourmet meals that he prepared. I also enjoyed playing Scrabble with Rajeev, Krishna and Ranu. He will be missed.

I met Rajeev, Ranu, and Krishna when they joined our Anderpeople intentional family. I think Rajeev was 12. Even then he was funny and smart. As he grew up, funny and smart turned into witty, incisive, and informed--widely informed. Rajeev always enhanced conversation. We'll miss his contributions.

We attended Community High School together, but became truly dear friends during our time at the University of Michigan. These were the days of student government and general college fun. My best memories of Rajeev all involve preparing and sharing meals. Preparing food with Rajeev was an event! Great food (I close my eyes and can smell the spices), great conversation (running the gambit from epicurean tirades to current events to political philosophy) a great time was had by all. I miss him.

Rajeev was a wonderful friend. He engaged people fully and warmly, always. His intellect, curiosity, and compassion were evident in all that he shared with me. I spent many evenings and weekends with him and our mutual friends. We would cook amazing meals and converse continuously about contemporary culture and politics.

I am thinking of my friend Rajeev today. A year ago we said goodbye to Raj. His spirit finally let go. This is a hard thing to imagine, because his spirit was so strong and lively and fun.

I first met Rajeev when we were involved in student politics at the University of Michigan. He threw himself into that activity with a passion. Our shared interest in politics and government was part of our bond ever after.

He gave me a present shortly before he died. It is a poster...

Whenever i eat a Mango i think of Rajeev. He once told me that he is planning to write a cookbook with Mango in every recipe.
