Not sure what to say?

Ralph and I met briefly in December 1955 as we were preparing to ship out at Ft. Lewis, WA. Ralph was hoping to play for the base team but was getting nowhere with the sergeant doing the processing. "How good would I have to be to play?" Ralph asked. "Maybe like Ralph Beard," was the reply. "I am Ralph Beard," Ralph said. Unfortunately, that wasn't good enough and we shipped out on Christmas eve. Ralph did make the Camp Zama team in Japan however. A great guy and basketball player.

Old friend, it seems like yesterday when we were hanging out at William's Drug Store on Main St. in Lexington. He gave you chewing gum and you guys would turn me upside down and shake the money from my pockets. I was riding horses for Mr. Doug Davis at High Hope Farms.
That was in 1948.

We are so sorry for your loss.

State Rep. & Mrs. C. B. Embry, Jr.

Betty,
I am so sorry for your loss. You two were a special couple and I know you will miss him.
Fondly,
Doris Detlefs

MAY THE BEARD FAMILY RECIEVE MY UTMOST CONDOLENCES AND LET GOD'S BLESSINGS BE POURED OUT UPON HIS FAMILY.ANONYMOUS.

Mr Beard sat in front of me at Male High School, A great man to know

My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Beard family. I had the priviledge of getting to know Ralph very well, and without question, he is one of the classiest people I have ever met. They broke the mold with Ralph. Scotty, your entire family is in my prayers.
