BLACKMAN, Ralph Leonard, my father, Ralph Leonard Blackman, died early in the morning on December 23, 2013, at the age of 89. My father was a good man. He loved animals and old movies and candy. He never complained nor talked about anyone behind their back. He was a straight shooter, an...

I will never forget Ralph. His grave is at the same cemetary as my Dad and my mother in law. Every time I go there I visit all three. Thank you Ralph for your heroic service and also for the Parka I had the honor of buying from you. I still have it though a little worn now after both my late angel bride and I wore it over the years.

A couple years since I last posted but I am glad to do it for someone who was amazing in many ways. The fact your resting place is not far from my fathers is kind of crazy as well as in the same general area as my angel brides mother, Wilma. Will always visit all of you when I make it to East Lawn Sincerely, Duane Gibson

I never will forget when he brought a Parka to sell and what a deal that was. My bride and I were going to move to the White Mountains and it was perfect. Brenda is gone now Dec 2014 but I still have the coat for when I move back to Pinetop. He was a good friend of Jack, my boss at PDQ Records. Jack is gone now as is PDQ Records. Ralph is buried not far from where Brenda's mom is as well as my father. It is always nice to visit all of them when I go there. And Ralph, thank you for your...

I just learned of your father's death. I met him here at the complex where he lived and I still live. Both he and my father were in the 8th air force during WW2 and it was on that basis that we struck up a conversation. I realized I hadn't seen him in awhile and learned the sad news of his passing from a neighbor. My condolences to you. I am so sad that we are losing "the greatest generation." My father passed 12 years ago and was always so proud of his service. I'm sure you're dad was too.

To the Blackman family from the Conrad Hernandez Family
we are so sorry for your loss. in this last year Mr Blackman became a true friend to Conrad. This was a tough time for him and Ralph made Conrad's transition so much easier. Ralph was an inspiration to us of what a gentle man he was. We enjoyed the time we shared with him and your family. You will always be in our hearts and prayers. Thank you for sharing this wonderful man with us.

I wanted to add this but I couldn't click it for some technical reasons. I really wanted it to my original entry. My father was a World War II vet and Korean War Ace and I am always amazed by the stories of World War II veterans like your father.
Thank you for your spendid tribute to your father.
Duane.
