Not sure what to say?

I will miss that ever present glimmer in his eye. His wonderful sense of humor and the dedication to his duties at the 452. He was a great guy and he will be very sadly missed by this SFC/Fld 1SG

i remember sgt burkart as a strong person who i could always count on he was an excellent leader and someone your family should be very pround of i am glad i new him for the time i did he will leave me with lots of good memories colleen m. (hendricks) johnson 452 general hospital

Gus always had a joke, and an insight, for everyone he talked to. He was an excellent leader, a fine Noncommissioned Officer, and he could fix any problem with any vehicle in the 452d's motor pool.

Gus and I were in the 452d GH working and socializing together for many years. Since military retirement Gus and I were still able to share stories at our 452d Alum meetings. His contributions were always appreciated as they always included a joke........and so smiles and laughter prevailed. That's the way I will remember Gus. My wife Barbara met and befriended Gus at these same meetings. She so enjoyed that grand sense of humor. Yes, he will be missed.

I worked with Gus at AMSA 49(G). He always brought a smile to my face. After his retirement we kept in touch and he would come in to the shop with some kind of joke to brighten things up. I will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.

We're sorry for your loss. Gus lived up to his "Candyman" title during his time with LCS.

I Knew Gus for many years as a member of the 452nd General Hospital and later as a part of the alumni association. He always had a warm wonderful smile and a joke for the day. He will be greatly missed.

452nd Alumi member. You will be missed at the meetings.
Retired asst Chief Wardmaster,(1996 to 2000)
