Not sure what to say?

It's been 11 years since Dr. Crawshaw passed, and I remember him clearly. After a conversation with him as a pre-med student in about 1982, he arranged for me to "intern" with Dr. Viterbo in the Philippines. I will always remember that trip, and how it cemented my commitment to medicine, and subsequent international volunteering. An amazing man.

Dear Carol I am so sorry to hear about
Ralph. I felt I knew him through you . Thinking of you . Terri Hudson

His passion for the pursuit of justice and his intense curiosity about the world were remarkable. I continue to draw strength and inspiration from the breakfasts at Joe's from when I lived in Portland and the letters after moving away. He will be dearly missed though his influence continues in so many.

My condolences to Carol, to Laura and David, and really to all who ever knew this man who enlarged our own concept of humanity by his presence in our lives.

Ralph had a keen intellect and active imagination, and he didn't seem to slow down much after he retired. He was so full of enthusiasm and ideas that an unsuspecting lunch date usually came away with an assignment. I will remember him always.

Dear Carol;
The news of Ralph's death saddens me deeply. I missed our talks after you both moved. He was a true friend and Renaissance man who cared passionately for patients and the profession of medicine. Like Don Quixote he was forever tilting at windmills to make the seemingly "impossible" possible. Please accept my sincere condolences. You and your family will be in my prayers. Ralph's already in heaven for all the good works he did.

Dear Carol,
So sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing him and seeing him with you at some of our Good Samaritan Emergency Dept. events. He was a very valued member of our community and will be dearly missed.
Behind every successful man is a strong supportive spouse--you too, are a treasure. My thoughts are with you.
Best, John Grigsby, MD

Dear Carol and Family: Our love and thoughts are with you all. Take care. Love, Bev and Stan Eastern

He used to come to the library at Emanuel and it was a pleasure to work with such a thoughtful man. I believe his efforts made a great difference to many.
