It is bittersweet to announce that Ralph F. Eckhardt age 85, of Pittsfield, NH departed Earth for
Heaven on January 5, 2020.
Ralph was a dedicated husband to A. Jean Eckhardt for 48 years. He was a loving Dad to
Debbie, Duane, Denise and Dawn, a Grampy to many and loved by his three brothers and
deceased sister. We were all very grateful the year Ralph came into our family. He was a
wonderful Dad.
Ralph was a veteran of the United States Air Force, joining in 1952 and was an aircraft mechanic
who worked on many types of aircraft. He was proud to serve his country. Later he worked as a
farmer, but his love was driving truck. He drove for many years, covered many miles and had
many stories.
Ralph was known for his red tee-shirts, blueberry picking and going for walks. He loved his
walks and many in the town of Pittsfield knew him well. Thanks for being so kind to our Dad.
Ralph leaves behind many hearts that loved him and laughed with him. His desire to live was
contagious. Before his first heart surgery the surgeon remarked that the repairs should last two
years; He got 7, in which he lived to the fullest.
At his request, no services will be held at this time. He wants to wait for “Jeanie-Girl”.
You were a gift to me and will be deeply missed. Until we meet again.
