Dr. Gomes was a man of great character. He was the nicest and most gentle man you could meet. His advocacy for students at Howard will be missed. He was a great mentor and put a lot of energy and effort into you if you were afforded the opportunity to work with him. I'm forever grateful for God allowing me to meet him. He was a blessing to us all.

He also was instrumental in helping me to get a fellowship for my remaining 3 years in the program, without which I don't know if I would have been able to stay in the program due to financial needs as a single mom. Thank you Dr. Gomes for all you have...
