Ralph Vincent Guglielmi

One of the greatest guys I ever worked with and was friends with. You could go up an escalator in NYC or Philadelphia with him and often more than one person would holler Hi Ralph with a big grin. I wished business had gone another way where I could have continued to work with him. I wish Linda and his family well.

I just now learned about Ralph's passing in Blue &Gold ND magazine. I am truly sorry and my deepest sympathy to his family. I was so proud, being a fellow Italian, the way he ran the option with perhaps the greatest backfield ever assembled at Notre Dame; Lattner, Worden and Heap. Frank Leahy said Guglielmi was the greatest quarterback he ever coached. A tremendous tribute when you realize that he coached two Heisman winners Bertelli and Lujack previously. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Ralph...and send you and Lisa, Michael and Ralphie my heartfelt blessings. I know Ralph was the finest person ever, always caring and loving, hard working, successful and proud...how wonderful to have shared all this with him... God bless you, Lisa, her family and his grandsons...my thoughts and prayers are with...

I have many happy memories of being together when our grandsons were little guys my caring thoughts are with the family.

My sincere sympathy to Linda and family. Ralph was a nice guy. So happy I got to play several rounds with him at River Landing. He touched so many lives..always with class..a big loss to the family, River Landing and Wallace.

So sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. He was a close friend of our family in the 50's and 60's. He worked for our company for a short time and we made Guglielmi salad dressing with his father and his lovely mother Rose. We would mix it in the basement of our company and label and package it to be sold in the local grocery stores. I can remember Ralph spending time at our house and passing the football with us as little kids. We will keep Ralph and your family in our prayers...

Ralph Guglielmi was my faovorite Notre Dame
football player when I played in high school. So much so that I copied the way
that he ran the triple/option at ND. I was
totally thrilled when I got a chance to play against him in an Old Timers' Game my
sophmore year at ND. What a charming and
unpretentious man he was inspite of all his
athletic and business accomplishments. I am
now 78 years old and he is still my hero.
My sincere condolences to the Guglielmi
family....
