Not sure what to say?

Dr. Knopf contacted me years ago hoping I was my father who grew up in western Kentucky. He was trying to reconnect with my dad. He served under my dad and had great memories.

Condolences to his family and God Bless!

I just read the beautiful obituary in the Record. My heartfelt condolences to the family. I had the honor and pleasure of working with Dr. Knopf in the 1980s and early 1990s, as a nurse on the Diabetes Center Unit and then in the FDU clinic. He was a dedicated and caring physician.

Dr. Ralph Knopf at Linda Strodtman's Retirement Party Feb 11, 2013

I am sorry to learn of Dr. Knopf's passing. What an accomplished gentleman he was. I will miss his thoughtful conversations and smile. Wishing the family peaceful hearts.

My deepest sympathy to Dr. Knopf's family and friends. Dr. Knopf was my endocrinologist when I was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He was always helpful and encouraging at every visit. On one particular visit Dr. Knopf noticed I had gained a few pounds. He looked up from my chart and said with a little grin, "you learned how to cheat!" I was heartbroken when Dr. Knopf retired from the University of Michigan Hospitals Endocrinology clinic. He kindness, knowledge and humor are missed. ...

Uncle Ralph was a quiet soft spoken man who left a huge footprint on this earth. It has been an honor to call him my uncle! My heartfelt condolences

I am so sad to learn of this news today. I remember all the wonderful times of working with him especially in the Diabetes Center Unit at University Hospital. A truly caring clinician and teacher. So many good memories, doing outreach education in upper Michigan, working on educational material about diabetes, problem-solving difficult care giving issuesalways with grace, good humor and friendship. Blessings to Susan and family as you grieve this loss. May you find comfort in all your...

Dr. Knopf was my doctor helping me through two pregnancies because I am diabetic. He was always so kind and thoughtful. He also was at the delivery of each of my children. I can not say enough good things about him and all his expertise and dedication. As a tribute both of my children became physicians. Thank you and bless you. Julie Reynolds
