Ralph “Box” Martin Sr. entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the age of 62. He was born on September 12, 1959, in New Orleans, La. Ralph was a retired Operator 3 at the Jefferson Parish Public Works, after 33 years of service. He was currently employed as a driver for Council on Aging. Ralph is the son of the late Nellie Chapman and brother of the late Michael Martin. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 42 years, Josephine Patti Martin; his sons, Ralph Martin Jr. (Lavonne), Demarco Martin Sr., and Joshua Martin Sr.; his 12 grandchildren: Romare, Jasmine, Taylor, Jaylen, Darryl, Nevaeh, Amaria, Demarco Jr., Makayla, Jakobi, Joshua Jr., and Za’laiya; Great-grandchildren: Koi and Ava; his sister Doretha Franklin and brother Myron Chapman (Stephanie); his daughter in love, Carenda Pierre, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Family, friends, employees of Jefferson Parish Public Works, Council on Aging, Walmart, Lafarge Holcim, Pastors and Officers of First Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service, “Celebrating the Life of Ralph Martin Sr.” on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Second New Guide Baptist Church, 1424 S. Dilton St., Metairie, LA 70003. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Providence Park Cemetery, Metairie, LA. Professional services entrusted to Dennis Mortuary Funeral Home.
