McCAIN, Ralph John, 79, of Sebring, Fla., died Monday, December 26, 2011. He was born in Wesleyville, Pa., May 8, 1932, and graduated from Sugar Grove Farmington Joint High School in 1950 and Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a driver for President Truman. He moved to Hatboro, Pa., and Warminster, Pa., in the 1950s, where he was a science teacher at Upper Moreland High School and William Tennent High School. He taught High School Marching Bands and Drum and Bugle Corps in the Tri-State area, and served as Mid-Atlantic Marching Band Association Judge. In his later years, he moved to Warren, Pa., and then to Sebring, where he was known for quality craftsmanship with wood working. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Blaszczyk; sons, Jeff McCain of Exton, Pa., and Kevin McCain of Jamison, Pa.; daughters, Vickie Houck of Gilbertsville, Pa., and Kristie McCain of Merritt Island, Fla.; step-daughters, Dawn Shaffer of Penndel, Pa., and Janice Powell of Warminster, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carol Mae Ludwick; his daughter, Lynn Marie Roberts; and his parents, John F. McCain and Alice Smith McCain.
