Ralph Salter was a long time family friend, long time. One of the nicest people you would ever want to know. I remember one time his car broke down right after a visit to Aunt Sara. I saw him on the side of the road and stopped. He said he was going to sleep in the car but I took him home for the evening, after making arrangements to get his car picked up and repaired. His car was ready about noon the next day, a Friday. He had no money on him and I paid his bill. I'm guessing Ralph got home...
