I was saddened to recently learn of Ralph Samlowski's death. We started OSU Med school the same year and later were in the same residency program. He was one of the more adventurous with residency team building and the first time I was white water rafting was with that small group in W.Virginia. A very belated entry as I just learned of Sam's passing in the OSU Med College journal. I was a classmate of Sam;s at OSU from 84-87 and was very glad to have made his friendship. He was always smiling and very positive in his attitude toward even the most difficult tasks. I recall hearing him tell us how it took him several attempts to get accepted into OSU med school and oh how lucky they were to have him. Dr. Sam was an excellent physician, superb mentor and a great human being. His untimely demise is a great loss for his patients and for scores of students and residents who could have benefited from his knowledge. I will forever cherish his words of wisdom and remember his infectious smile.
