No one present at the annual Thanksgiving day football game between WOHS and Columbia in 1952 at Underhill Field should ever forget its dramatic ending when with less than a minute remaining, diminutive Ralph Spero intercepted a pass and returned it 65 yards for a TD, providing WOHS with a 12-6 victory over its traditional rival.
