Not sure what to say?

I'm very saddened to hear of Matt's passing...but look back on past times and realize just how greatly he has enriched my life! A constant source of inspiration in my musical journey, there was NOTHING negative about Matt. He spoke the truth and was a north star to many who loved him. You will be missed, mate. Thanks for the love...MG.

To all the family,

I just heard of Matt's death and I am so sorry. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I worked with Matt when we were both sales representatives for Research Institute of America. I had lost touch with him after I left the company in 1994. When I think of Matt I will always remember his smile and his tremendous energy. He truly had a heart of gold and would do anything to help a friend. He was always laughing and cutting up, but when he was selling he was the...

Ellen,Jim,and David,

I want to let you all know how I was to hear of Matt's death. He and I go way back to the Whitaker School days. I think that he was in most of my classes. He and the other kids use to make fun of me,and
it was only because I looked different they did. I thought that Matt had alot going for him, He was well liked by everybody. I know you're going through a hard time right now,and I want you all to know that you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Ellen, David and Jim, I was so sorry to hear about Matt. As with Adelaide, it's been many years since we've been in touch; but I think of those times hanging out with you all around your house fondly. You have my prayers and love.

I didnt have the pleasure to meet Matt, But did have the pleasure to meet his two boys, and If children are a reflection of their parents, then Matt was surely proud of his boys. They are sweet, kind, friendly and respectful, and our family will have them in our thoughts during this difficult time.

McInerny Family

Although we have not seen each other in many years, it seems something would always come up to make me think of the Forest Drive days and the Stocktons living right behind us! My prayers are with all of you, I know it is so difficult! When sudden, like Mary Louise and Matt, it seems to be the hardest! I truly wish I could be there today. Again, I am so sorry and you have my warmest and most kind thoughts coming your way. Time, time and more passing time truly does help, eventually.

Mr.Stockton was a very genorous man.A couple days before he passed away he took my brother and I to the skate park with his kids. After we finished skating he bought all of us a gatoraid and drove us home.
Kevin McInerny
As my Brother mentioned above Mr. Stockton was a very kind, happy, and very genorous man. Always doing things for people. Like on the way home from the skatepark a women called him for some help fixing her computer. And from the way the problem sounded it seemed...

Our thoughts are with you and your family.

After almost 30 years Matt came back into my life just a few weeks ago. I had the opportunity to visit him in Raleigh, meet his two wonderful boys Ralph and Daniel and rekindle a strong friendship that started at Whitaker Elementary. I will always be grateful that for whatever reason - fate intervened and we had that time together. Matt's zest for life was so strong, it infected all who were around him. That will stay with me forever and I thank him for that. He will truly be missed by all...
