Sorry I missed hearing about this sooner. I would have tried to attend the funeral. Ralph was a witness at our wedding and one of Bob's missionary companions.

The tributes the children gave to Patriarch Wheeler at the funeral were so touching. But, nothing was quite as touching as what I saw driving by his home on saturday. There were so many of you out in the yard cleaning up. I was so impressed I cried. That was the nicest tribute you could have given to him. We love your dad!

Dear Joyce and Family,
We extend our sympathy in the loss of Ralph. Frank and I have fond memories of you and him in the Richards Second Ward many years ago. We appreciated Ralph's service as bishop and the Primary calling I had. It was a happy/sad time for us in the ward as we lost a son. We were greatful for the compassion we received from you and Ralph and extend it to you now. May our Father in Heaven bless you and your family. Love, Celia and Frank Cutler

I did not know Mr. Ralph well...but I knew his son James Brent Wheeler...who left me with an impression that will forever be a part of my heart.... my life!
Isn't it amazing that a person who you didn't even spend time with can bring precious tears to your eyes??? He has without knowing... served my famliy(the Salazar's... in Sugarhouse) well even without knowing it! He was soon to give my nephew his patriarchal blessing..& was unable to because of his illness!
Jim...I am so sorry for...

Uncle Ralph was a great man and an example to all. I have fond memories of him as far back into childhood as I can remember. Our whole family will miss his great sense of fun and down to earth goodness. May God bless and comfort Joyce and the whole family in this time of sorrow.

Thank you for the great service and example you have been to us. You have blessed the lives of many. We will miss you. As Elder Neal A. Maxwell said, "In the gospel grammar death doesn't have an exclammation mark, only a comma.' It's true. May God bless You as you continue with the service that Bishop Wheeler has left for you. It is my prayer in His sacred name even Jesus Christ , Amen.
