Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear of Randy. He was a great guy and am in shock that he has left us. Randy was a great addition to our car pool in high school and throughout university. He was always the funniest guy in our group. Still remember the knee prints he left in the Ramber after trying to jump a snow drift at Westwood Collegiate. Ron Tibbits and Randy always used to joke at each others difference in size while we drove to university. We laughed so much during those years that we never thought about...

Randy and I served in Cyprus 1978 to 1979, then linked up again at U Manitoba for several years. I was also in his wedding party and he in mine. Lost touch over time but I never forgot him. Every so often we meet someone in life who has a profound influence on each of us. Randy was like that. Sincere condolences to Patty, his sons and the rest of his family. Sleep well, Buddy.

I served with Randy in Sudan with UNMIS. He always gave solid advice and had a great smile. Sir: "May you have fair winds and following seas".

I went to law school with Randy and Patti and greatly enjoyed his comradeship and his sense of humour. He was the best of friends.

I am so sorry to read if your loss. Randy and I were buddies at CFSAL in '75 and kept tenuous touch over the years. During our last exchange, I'd said that on my next visit to BC I was going to try to link up.

This will happen this summer and I was looking all over in my contact list to find him but he'd disappeared. Now I know why.

He was a large and gentle soul (so was his invisible rabbit whose name I now forget). I'm richer for having known him.

Patti and family

My sincere condolences on your loss. Words cannot express how shocked Laura and I were when we heard. I will always remember Randy fondly especially the great times we spent together. Although I had not seen in him in some time I remember fondly the last dinner we all had together shortly before you left for Prince George. I kook forward to seeing you on the 18th. Know you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace friend.

We already like the world less, with Randy gone from it.
It was with profound sadness and shock that we learned of Randy's recent passing. Val and I offer our sincere condolences to Patti, Spencer, Joel and Casey on Randy's all too untimely passing. We first met Randy, Patti and the boys when I was posted to Esquimalt as a young Legal Branch captain in the early 90s. Randy was a proud Reserve legal officer and a well known and respected lawyer in Victoria. We all became instant friends and...

With Randy's larger than life presence, positive attitude and fitness level somehow we never allowed ourselves to believe that this was a possible outcome. With that, we missed saying goodbye and telling Randy what an amazing person he was to be around, how much he meant to us and how the world was better with him in it. Patti and boys, our hearts go out to you.

It was a pleasure to serve with and enjoy the friendship of Randy in the 8th Canadian Hussars in Petawawa and Cyprus. He was an officer and gentleman in the finest sense of the term and contributed greatly to the efficiency and morale of the Regiment.
