Randall Lee Dunn, age 64, of Montrose, MI passed away on August 11, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
Randy was born on May 2, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan to Lillian Warren and the late Ronald Dunn. Although Randy faced many challenges in his life, his resilience and determination carried him through many of these circumstances. He was blessed with a sharp wit and when you saw that twinkle in his eyes you knew you were about to hear one of his classic “Randy” remarks. He also had a lot of advice for everyone, and whether or not you felt you needed it, you were going to get it!
In Randy’s younger years he enjoyed living with his Grandma and Grandpa Dunn and helping on the farm, and then working for his good friends, Steve and Becky Durling, in Bancroft on their dairy farm. He had a true passion for caring for the cows and this gave his life a special purpose. He was a hard worker.
Later in life when Randy was not physically able to work, he fell in love with bird watching. Nothing pleased him more than filling the bird feeders and watching those birds come and go throughout the day. It gave him a sense of purpose and he truly felt it was his job to care for them.
Randy is survived by his mother, Lillian, sisters Denise (Edward) Trantham, Jane (James) Honea, Stepmother Fay Dunn, sister Julie (Colin) Moore, and brother Darrin (Barb) Dunn, nieces, Jessica (Nick) Beaver, Nicole Robertson, and nephew, Jonathan Trantham.
A special thank you to McLaren Flint CCU staff for their excellent care during Randy’s hospitalization and to The Medical Team hospice.
“May the road rise to meet you, dear brother,
And may every step bring you peace.
May the laughter we shared echo in the hills,
And the love we knew light your way.
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

We are saddened by the passing of Randy.
Randy showed up at the farm 40 years ago with his grandpa looking for a job. That day was the beginning of a friendship that has been filled with memories that we still enjoy reminiscing about today.
Prayers for his Mom and family.
We will miss seeing him.
Steve, Becky and Dan Durling.

Randy was one-of-a-kind, the best. As cousins, we would see each other up at deer camp and then rabbit hunting around Uncle Donald's or Uncle Charlie's farms... it was a wonderful way to grow-up. So sorry to hear of his passing.. too young, too soon. He will be missed. God bless him.
