Randall James "Randy" Goss

Our hearts became so heavy when we read about Randy's passing. Two decades have flown by since we enjoyed happy times with Rhonda and Randy while supporting our sons in their football and other endeavors, but our memory of them as a remarkable couple has not faded. I am so sorry for the loss of Randy Goss. I pray for and express my love and deep sympathy to Rhonda and her family. He is greatly loved and forever missed, but Jesus welcomed him to his final Home, saying, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant".

Randy´s obituary speaks for itself, exhibiting the qualities of a mature Christian man in a lifetime of service. He was courageous and faithful in his battle with ALS, confident in his salvation through Jesus Christ. His good nature and generous heart will be greatly missed.

I knew Randy from Calvary Taos and always enjoyed his and Rhonda´s visits when they spent time here in Taos. Randy was a gifted teacher, and it was clear he loved Jesus deeply. I will miss his kindness and the joy he brought whenever he was here. My prayers of comfort are with his beloved wife Rhonda and the entire Goss family.

I worked with Randy at the City of Austin AWU for many, many years. He was truly one of a kind. Kind and supportive, but tough when needed; honest and straight forward, but politically astute; intellectually curious, but pragmatic; hardworking but fun loving with a keen sense of humor. I learned from golfers in the Slavis group and my children who attend Grace Covenant Church this year that Randy was sick. He played a special role in my 41 year career at AWU. He assigned me wonderful opportunities.

Randy is the measure of leader and mentor that has guided my professional career. He gave me an opportunity to lead when I was only 26 years old, seeing something I couldn't see in myself at AWU. My first council meeting he said "I will handle the politics so you can focus on the technical" and he always lived up to that promise.
