Not sure what to say?

A few days a week, I walk the NCR trail that begins in Cockeysville, MD. Each day I walk, I pass Randalls bench. Some days, I will sit and just take nature in its a really great spot. Randalls bench is the only way I know him, but he must have been truly cherished for someone to create this landmark in his name. His bench has created a peaceful resting spot for this weary traveler. Love to Randalls family.

I was surprised and saddened to find this page as I looked for a current email address for Randy. We were high school classmates in the years before either of us developed much common sense, and we had a lot of fun together. We lost touch for several decades before reconnecting a few years before his passing. We both eventually found our calling working on environmental issues, something neither of us really anticipated as teenagers. My deepest condolences to his family, who must really miss...

I was told of Randy's death a year ago and am deeply saddened. Having moved many miles away, I wasn't aware of this tragic loss. He was a colleague and friend. I'll miss having a beer with him listening to Leo Kotke in Annapolis, his wit and humble yet astounding intelligence.

I go Googling in search of friends I haven't seen for decades -- and happen across this. Sad.

Condolences to Randy's family.

Our deepest sympathies to the family of Randy.

I was the Director of the Maryland Park Service and worked with Randy on many projects and activities. I counted on him as an excellent colleague, a talented engineer and someone who I could trust. The part about trust says volumes about his honesty in our work together. He would tell me the truth and I could count on that. We endured many difficult times when the politics of decision making made our professional lives much harder than necessary. I could always count on Randy to listen to my...

Randy was the cute little boy that grew up across the street from where I lived. He was the baby brother of the two sisters that were good friends of my childhood. I got to know Randy when he worked at DNR. He was a wonderful person with lots of humor, talent and charm. My Mom and I are saddened by his death. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Randy was a wonderful boss and friend, he will be greatly missed. My prayers are with the family.

My condolences to the entire Harrill family and many friends on the passing of Randy. Randy was the best engineer that I ever worked with at DNR. He had a rare combination of whit, technical expertise and tenacity. Randy was responsible for managing and/or overseeing the completion of hundreds of projects in our State Parks and other DNR lands. His work made a positive impact on untold numbers of families and individuals alike and inspired them to cherish nature and protect our natural...
