Randall C. "Randy" Wheeler, 62, of Whitesboro passed away unexpectedly at Faxton-St. Luke's Health Care in New Hartford. He was born January 1, 1951 in Watertown, NY, a son of Val Sauer-Tudi and Clint Wheeler. He was a graduate of Morrisville College. He was employed as a General Mills sales representative, and prior to that as a Loblaw's manager. He is survived by his affectionate and caring wife, Audrey A. Fransman, whom he married on July 18, 1998 in Hinckley, NY, and his faithful "furry" collies, Jeter and Sammie. He is also survived by his loving son, Shawn Wheeler and wife, Dawn, his "like" children Deborah Nicotera and her husband, Steven, Shannon Bronk and fiancé Guy, Tracy Iannone and husband Randy, and Aaron Evans and wife Amy; grandchildren Jacob, Scott, Andrew, Sandra, Thomas, David and Michael; siblings Jack, Jeff, Scott, Kevin, Candace and Gary; brother-in-law Louie; stepfather and mentor, Ned Tudi. Also, Lee Wakefield, whom he held dear to his heart along with MANY family members and friends that he shared a unique bond with. He is predeceased by his mother, father, and cherished sister, Diane. His passion was time spent with family and friends, either at home or at his Hinckley Lake summer retreat. He was an avid Yankee and SU basketball fan. He will be remembered most as a fierce friend to many and for his uncanny sense of humor. Randy could always make people laugh and his smile could light-up the darkest room. He loved to be warm, by the fire, sitting in the sun on his deck, or by hugging those he loved. Despite enduring a paralyzing accident 35 years ago, he will be remembered as a man who shined brighter than the sun and who lived his life to the fullest. His funeral will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford. Calling hours will precede the funeral, beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider a donation in Randy's memory to the Whitesboro Volunteer Fire Department, POB 216, Whitesboro, NY 13492.
