Randy Gene Christian

A Gathering of Remembrance for Randy Gene Christian, 66, will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend David Gardner officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Newport Cemetery.

A time of visitation and support for the family will be Friday evening from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The son of the late Barber Gene and Shirley Melbalene Balthrop Christian, Randy was born July 23, 1955 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and left this earth for his eternal home on March 28, 2022, surrounded by his family.

A graduate of Lone Grove High School, Randy drove school buses for Lone Grove.  He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with things, woodworking and raising chickens.  He was a member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and was the door greeter.  You could call Randy a jack of all trades and master of none.

Randy and the former Jimmie Lynn Franklin were married January 9, 1981 in Lone Grove and celebrated forty one years of marriage this year.

Randy leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Lynn, son Shane Christian and wife Jessica; daughter Janie Laws; brother Joe Christian; sister Sharlette Shans and husband Junior; father-in-law Jim Franklin; grandchildren, Tarra Townley and husband James; Christian DeBord and wife Jessie; Tyler Nealey; Kennady Laws; Arianna and Aubrey Christian; three great granddaughters, Laynie and Rylee Townley, and Esther DeBord, adopted daughters, Susie Hunklinger and Diana Frost both of Germany and Brenda Anderson along with numerous nieces and nephews.  His parents, daughter MaLinda Nealey and mother-in-law Judy Franklin preceded him in death.
