Not sure what to say?

Rest in peace, Nappy. You were truly a "godsend" in the sports world. Good guy, good reporter.

I played little league baseball with Randy and played 100´s of rounds with him at Brookside. He was a straight up great man. Rest in peace my friend

It didn´t matter what Randy was assigned... Va Tech and VMI sports, auto racing, golf, or even a high school event on a Friday night, the story became a treasure to enjoy over and over again because of his unique style. Randy, you had that flare that readers love for decades and those of us who are readers, writers, and editors will tell you, it was a job well done. Thank you for your efforts. Rest in Peace, my friend . David J. Bisset, retired New River Valley Sports Writer.

JoAnne, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Randy covered women´s golf in Roanoke with equal aplomb and enthusiasm as he did the men´s tournaments. We felt so special to be interviewed by Randy and miss his contribution to Roanoke sports coverage.

JoAnne and family, we are so saddened to learn of Randy's passing. We are holding you in our thoughts and prayers.

Sending our sincere condolences for you loss.. Randy was a great guy!

Randy, you are the man!! You always had my back! Our "off the record" conversations about downtown Blacksburg always stayed "off the record!" I´ll gladly say, on behalf of all Tech players and coaches, we LOVED having you around! My Clifton Forge posse was always a big fan as well! Rest in peace, my friend. You certainly deserve it. -Grant Noel

Great memories of hanging with Nappy at Radford, the days of the "staff car", Clydesdales etc. What guy!
