Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home - Harlingen Obituary

San Benito/Harlingen, TX -

Raquel Renée Sanchez, 40, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in Harlingen, Texas. God Blessed Gilberto, Lydia, Woody, Dan, and David on July 17, 1976 the day Renée was born. Renée grew up surrounded by love and gave a lot of love.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Juan E. Sanchez, and her maternal grandparents Antonio and Angelita Hernandez.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Gilberto and Lydia Sanchez; siblings, Juan Gilberto "Woody" Sanchez (Irene), Daniel "Dan" Sanchez (Alex), Judge David Sanchez (Melba); paternal grandmother Evangelina Sanchez; nephews and nieces, Brandon, Brandy, Juan Diego "JD", David Nicklaus (Nick), Daniella, Briannah Renée (Bri Bri) Daniel (Danielito), and Alessia; her best friend Norma (Chics) Martinez; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Renée graduated from Harlingen High South in 1996. She was a huge Hawks fan. Renée was also an avid fan of WWE wrestling. She attended several wrestling events all over the state and always brought home the belt. She loved music by Garth Brooks, George Strait, and David Lee Garza y Los Musicales. Renée knew no stranger. Everyone she came across became a friend. She was loved and admired by everyone. Renée was a volunteer with Harlingen CISD first at Harlingen South and then went over to Ben Milam Elementary where Dr. Rosie Cobarrubias and all the Ben Milam family took her in with open arms. She loved her Ben Milam family. She volunteered there until this last school year when she "retired" to look after her mom who was battling cancer. Renée loved to dance and regularly wore her brothers and her father out on the dance floor. The girl could dance! She enjoyed playing her guitar, accordion, keyboard, and drums. She was an inspiration to many, especially those that have family members with Down's syndrome. Renée loved spending time with the Flores girls, her sisters from across the street. She would spend hours on the phone with friends like Lupana who lived in California, cousin Renee from California, cousin Jessica from Dallas, and her best friend Norma (Chics) Martinez. Renée was one of a kind. SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED, but NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!!!!!!

Dearest Lilly,
I was so sad to see that precious Raquel had passed away. It was not that long ago I saw you both at Grimsell's and Raquel was so darling. I know your faith in God will help you and all the love and support you have from friends like me.
Carol Mayfield

Gilberto and Lile, please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of Renee. I will always remember how happy she was and how she made me envious that I wasn't seeing the world with her passion for life. She made a deep impression on all that she met and will be remembered as a beautiful soul.

YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS 1 THESS.4: 13-18 YOUR S.D.A. BROTHER IN CHRIST.

Primos Beto y Lile - Reciban nuestro más sincero pésame por esta irreparable pérdida de su hija Renee. Que la paz de Dios, la cual va más allá de todo entendimiento, les traiga paz a Uds. y a toda la Familia Sánchez.
